Seminário: Polytopes and graded rings
Orador Convidado: Balázs Szendroi (University of Vienna, Austria)
Resumo: I will give an introduction to Ehrhart theory, the theory of counting lattice points in polytopes, and its relation to algebraic geometry. I will explain some calculations done jointly with Praise Adeyemo, University of Ibadan, which connects hypercubes, the Segre embedding, graded and bigraded rings, and permutations.
